Encouraging Post-Graduate Research

The Commission is keen for more Christian educators to become involved in research that combines theology with educational thinking and practice. To this end, it is holding a Forum on Research on May 28 to encourage teachers who are already engaged in research and others who might be thinking of doing so. Staff who have just completed work will be acting as encouragers.

There is a critical shortage of educators in Australia with high-level academic qualifications in education and theology. Part of our charter is to help remedy this situation.

If you know someone who would like to be a part of the solution, let them know as well!

The Education Issues Group

Earlier this year the Commission established a small group, with Dr Grant Maple as its convenor, to produce three substantial papers.  The subjects of the papers are:  Some Guidelines for Schools Developing an Environmental Policy, The Arguments for and Against the Teaching of an Ethics Course in Schools, and The Implications of Early Childhood Education for the Anglican Church. Schools have been invited to nominate teachers who are interested in any of these topics to work with the EIG on these papers.
