About AEC

The Anglican Education Commission was re-established by the Synod in 2007 to advance the Diocesan commitment to doing education Christianly. It has a mandate to contribute to the transformation of education through the pre-schools, schools, colleges, parishes and other Anglican organisations within which Anglicans are involved. We aim to assist teachers and other Christians involved in education to do so Christianly.

Its activities include the mentoring of teachers of Christian Studies in Anglican schools, the nurture and encouragement of the next generation of educational leaders, the recruitment of Christian teachers, the promotion of research and doctoral study that combines education and theology, the production of resources, the establishment of networks of Christians involved in education, the delivery of a pre-service supplementary Christian education program, the conduct of educational reviews, advocacy and Diocesan representation on educational matters, and the delivery of seminars and other activities related to education in parishes.
